Last Paper
The Politics of Memory. Against the Postcolonial. Fatima Gallaire. Algerian Playwrights. Michel de Certeau. Time Place and Space. Four years ago, if you had asked my senior-in-high-school-self what I would study in my fourth year of college, I would not have mentioned any of the above topics. Not in a million years. I thought that I was going to be a lawyer. I thought I would study History and Economics followed by a stint at Georgetown Law. I thought my life would be vastly different than it is now. But here I am, a fourth year History and French major who studies immigration, humanitarian issues and theatre. Who would have thought! I hate Economics (although I understand the importance of it). I am not going to law school. I will probably not even focus on History when I continue my education. I love literature. I love people. I love France. I love the theater.
In any case, I'm working on my last paper of my undergraduate career. It's for my graduate seminar. It has been one tough semester. This has been one tough class. It's one of my favorites though. Rewarding. Thought provoking. Lots of reading. Lots of thinking. I am going to miss academics.
