Moving Blues

After three years on my own, I am moving in with my folks. Somehow three years of odds and ends are going to be stuffed into my tiny room at home. My large executive desk is going in the living room. The amoire, bed, futon, bookcase, chair, and rocker are going in my room along with the already present desk from high school.

Moving logistics aside, I'm going to miss my little room in this fantastic apartment overlooking the trees. I'll miss the proximity to town and all its conveniences. The work commute will take me a half hour rather than 8 minutes. Sigh. The perks win out in the end though. At mom and dad's I'll be able to save more money and be fed on a regular basis. We'll spend more time together. The animals will be closer. I won't have to dodge golf balls while jogging. All in all, not a bad deal.

I need to be out by July 31.

Toilet Paper Roll

Kittens left to their own devices will do cute little kitten things, such as remove all the tissue from an entire (new) roll of toilet paper.

Nemours

There's a new trend this season. Paris is out. Nemours is IN!!! I received an email informing me of my high school placement in Nemours, France. The town of 12,000 is about a 45 min. train ride south of Paris complete with old castle and quaint river.

So far the list of potential Nemours visitors includes Dennis, Shelly, and Nicole. When will YOU be visiting?

Beat You Never Saw It Coming

The dinner menu tonight? SpaghettiO's and white wine (pinot grigio). Yep Yep. The foodie's delight! Tomorrow night's menu? Honey mustard chicken on the grill. Shelly is coming over. It's going to be a good time.

I found my "fat" clothes while cleaning. I'm thrilled!!! "Fat" is relative since I'm currently a size 8 but my size 5/6 stuff is a bit tight. According to the laws of fashion (and personal style), one should wear what fits. I was having an issue with the appearance of slight fat rolls over my thinner jeans. After much deliberation, I decided that a size upgrade was necessary. Dang that binge eating!!! I thought a few late nights indulgences would be harmless. Humph!

Kittens?

I’m addicted to SciFi. It’s true. For me, it’s been SciFi all day. Nothing but science fiction. Absolutely nothing. The exciting (semi)new series remake, Doctor Who, has enraptured me. Wonderfully, the SciFi channel has featured back-to-back episodes of the series as a promotion for the Doctor Who third season premiere. What more could I ask for on a day off? Time travel. Robots. Ridiculous sarcasm. Not to mention cheesy special effects and alien villains. Yep Yep. Good times.

So I have a serving job. It’s money. No complaints. The business atmosphere is laid-back and fast-paced. 68 days (give or take) until Paris. Anyone want a kitten?

Tidbits

Since graduation I have gotten a job and my first speeding ticket, started to move into my parents, driven to Wisconsin and learned to eat hard boiled eggs. Extraordinary, eh?

There is an independent film on youtube called "four eyed monsters." Different in a good way. A social commentary of sorts. It's only about 71 minutes. Check it out. You won't be disappointed - or at the very least, you'll have lots of talk about.

I'm giving away kittens if you would like one.
