Greetings from a Semi-lost Soul

This "world traveller" took a three weeks off to go to France for the New Year. I returned to the States where I immediately dove into a gargantuan mountain of academic work. This is my excuse for not writing for, umm, 6 weeks. Thanks to everyone who continues to check in on this little blog! I will resume keeping you entertained forthwith (forthwith is a wonderful but underused word in my opinion).

So to recap: I flew to Paris on December 27th. The plans were to spend the New Year in Paris, go to Prague for a week then voyage to Charise's apartment in the Auvergne region of France. For the most part, Charise and I stuck to those plans. I flew home on January 14th and started classes on the 16th. My research project/art exhibit went up in the HUB on the 17th. The reception for the exhibit was the following Monday (this included a spiffy jazz concert). I started my first graduate class of my academic career; a course on Black Paris, filled by mostly PhD candidates (aka scary). I was "fired" from my ridiculous serving job on January 30th. I have my first dance competition of the academic semester this weekend - February 9 - 11 - at the University of Michigan. Sound intriguing? Well, stop by again soon ... I have a plethora of stories to recount!
